Image Banner Rotation

Hi All,

I'm looking to create an Image Rotation Sequence similar to the one found here:
http://www.nba.com

and also here, http://home.worldvision.org/?page=nonflash

complete with buttons, I've searched through google but I can't seem to find what this slide show is called.

Can anyone point me in the right direction? Anything will help, keywords, scripts, tutorials ect.

I pressume they use some type of java script and/or php. (not interested in any flash)
