I know what blogs are on the client side but what is the done in the server side code? What makes a blog a blog ?

This is not a server side issue.

Blogger takes care of all the server side features, you have nothing to do.

It uses a database, where all the entries are stored, and retrieves them, like the threads in this forum.

Simple.

I am not personally looking for a blog but just a more technical explanation. I was just looking for what the big deal is with blogs. I guess it is just text stored in large varchar db fields?
