View Full Version : Could someone with IE6 check please?
I don't have IE6 installed and someone reported what I *suspect* is the infamous IE6 guillotine bug on this simple enough page. I'm not sure which links it was or if it was all of them.
I've put this page in Quirks Mode: http://ababa.net/
And on this I've tried something else: http://hosting.ababa.net/
Could you please just hover over the links and see if parts of the page starts to move or disappear or are up to something in general. :(

the whole main part of the page shifts to the left slightly... basically at the beginning it lines up flush with the edge at the top and its not flush with the edge of the brown bit at the bottom, and after you mouse over a link it all shifts left so that its not inline with the header graphic but it is inline with the brown bottom bit.
Duh. Is it on BOTH pages (meaning none of my fixes worked) and does all links cause it?
Thanks for checking. :)
Where did your attachment go? Do we have a guilliotin here too?

It all lines up for me, until I hover over any of the links on the url in the screenshot (see attachment). It only happens on the http://hosting.ababa.net/ url though for me.
Using IE 6.0.2800.1106 (to be precise :p)
Ah. The other page puts IE in quirks mode. Guess I'll have to go for that then.
Thanks. :)

only http://hosting.ababa.net/ does it. probably because the brown footer bar thing is longer than area for the main content?
It isn't. Or it shouldn't be. :D
If I may bother you again... Both pages should trigger Quirks Mode now. Is it gone? Shift + reload...

yep, its working just fine now :)
the brown footer bar thing is now the right length, too...
good luck on the ol' free hosting  (well... probably more on the paid stuff...)
Thanks to both of you! Guess it's time for me to partition my disc and install several IE. :(
Thanks for the good luck wishes too. Yeah, the free hosting is just a way to 'give something back to the community'. It won't be no geo. Just a moderate amount of accounts.

Working for me aslo. Was it just hat bottom brown bar thing that was causing it to move?
No, it's the link hovers. So I guess one solution is to not use CSS on the links. I *think* there must also be a float. The yellow (main) part is floated.
I've never seen it really bad but I've read that the page can be kind off chopped off and disappear. Isn't evolution lovely? :D
