I built the forum design to this site myself, and I'd like to know what you think. I also thinking of bringing down the top menu bar where it usually is, across underneath the breadcrumbs box.
Tell me your first impressions (http://thepsychologyforum.com/index.php)

Its a VBullitin site, perhaps change the favicon.
There is something with the light blue, its pretty strong on the eyes for me, perhaps soften it or work with it a little?
I like the clean look though, just something with the white, blue, dark gray that hurts my eyes a little after looking for a bit.

I'll see what I can do, but generally different monitors display the blue differently. So it's hard to decide on a final shade of light blue.
also, what do you think of this setup with the box next to the logo.

I do like it better, the nav is better.
Your gray notice box and then the box underneath is kind of redundant, perhaps pick one or the other?

Yeah, I'm yet to decide with the 2 boxes.
What do you think about if that navbar was used in the current design? At the moment, I have that blue navbar at the top which I will replace with the standard one going across like in that picture - would that look better?
I'm just not too sure about the logo side-by-side with the other breadcrumb/log-in box.

I don't really like the breadcrumb/login box, but I don't know if you have a way around that to use something different. I dont like it on any vB system, it rarely fits right.
If you can separate the two, put the login where it is, leave the breadcrumb area as open space, and put the breadcrumbs below the navigation.

Site looks nice, and clean
Can you get rid of the session ids?
