Hi, I've just started tryin to get to grips with jquery just messing around with bits and peices. I've tried to follow this tutorial,

http://www.gmarwaha.com/blog/2007/08/23/lavalamp-for-jquery-lovers/

I followed every step but it's not worked, I think I might have gone wrong on the last step "Next, in the document.ready event, fire a call to initialize the menu." I don't quite understand this part. Any ideas please

It's this line

$(function() { $(".lavaLamp").lavaLamp({ fx: "backout", speed: 700 })});

that's refering to.

This is the same as

$(document).ready(function() { $(".lavaLamp").lavaLamp({ fx: "backout", speed: 700 })});

thus the part about the "document.ready event".

It means that the initialization code will be run as soon as the DOM is loaded (which is the perfect time to do so).

If you have followed that tutorial and didn't get it to work, you will have to post your code; otherwise we will have no chance finding out what went wrong.
