FYI: problem with registration/posting

Hi all,
Just an FYI...
I registered yesterday, got my email, and then clicked the activation link, and got the message everything is OK. But when I tried to post, I couldn't. I got a message saying something like "something is wrong or your account may be pending activation..."
Tried again this morning, and still couldn't post.
So this afternoon, I went back to my sign up email, and clicked the link to use if you have problems and entered my user name and the activation code.
Problem solved. Now I can post. I think. I'll find out in a minute. :)
Anyway, don't know if this is normal or if I am just an idiot, but I thought I'd mention it! Cheers!

UPDATE:
I just got the email saying "Welcome to CodingForums" which I didn't get yesterday, but I swear when I clicked the activation link yesterday, I got a page saying, thank you for registering (or something like that) and now you can go and edit your profile or post away.

I guess the important thing is it works now.

Actually, I had this problem when I changed my email awhile back - solved it by copying the link directly into the url instead of following it from my email if I recall.
Seems to have demoted me to a unverified usergroup, but I hadn't heard anyone else with problems regarding this. Oh, and I'm pretty certain that the confirmation was also considered good to go, just didn't seem to update.

George, could this be due to the cron that the vb3 uses? I can't see activation codes being cron controlled, but I suppose that its possible.
