Task bar not working

Something has changed on my system and the open programs no longer show up in the task bar.

Any idea on where the settings are hidden? To change tasks you have to hold the Alt key and tab through the tasks. Can't figure out how this change was made!

Sorry 'bout that. System is Windows 98 on an IBM ThinkPad

I checked the search earlier and tried some with thge search criteria you wrote. Nothing. I know how to turn on the clock, add programs to the quick launch etc. Nothing addresses the issue that I described above. No open programs show up in the task bar.

As in most things with windows, this functionality is probably located in a hidden file called tskbrcfg.exe or some such garbage.
