.htaccess help I think...I want to customize the directory htaccess allows me to view

hey i got .htaccess in the folder
its allowing me to view my files
but, my main concern right now is, its not showing the whole file name
only about 23-25 characters and then it cuts off.
im trying to provide a file name and very brief 3 word description in some of the file names but the directory is cutting it off.

there's all that wasted space (like "description" for exampl which i dont even know how to use) and its cutting off where i actually need space
plllllease what can i do? i tried to google it i cant find anything, i dont know if its even htaccess related, i just assumed it was but still cant find anything

Options +Indexes is the code i used to be able to show my files in that directory

now basically i just want it to show the whole file name, even if its 40 characters and cuts off the space under "description"

enable fancy indexing and add the code NameWidth=*

.....wow.
