Hello,
I'm trying to create a mini version of the tracking done by companies like webtrendslive and coremetrics. What they do is place a pixel image with javascript on every html page that can pass data back to the server hosting the image. They are also able to pass back certain fields that the user can define, such as product page, item name, page name, price, etc.... to enable detailed tracking.
Has anyone done this or help me out on doing this.
My ultimate goal is to be track a user from entry to ordering in a way that is more accurate than simple ip tracking. It seems like with AOL proxies and other service providers, that visitors often have a different ip every time.
thanks.
