Switching text to images?

I'm new to JavaScript and I'm trying to figure out a way to switch an image for text.
Like if you type the word "coffee" it would replace it with a picture of a coffee cup. I've figured out how to change text but have yet to figure this out.

first u need an image of variables, and preset everything top what to change it to. basically, it would be easier to just use <img> tags.
