Hi all,
I have created a very small site that focuses on the sale of specialist medical insoles were the customer makes their purchase through paypal.
My question is, how can I make this site highly visible on google and the various other search engines, is it worth paying to have a professional do this? and if so how much would this usually cost and who would you recommend?
Thanks in advance!
Kyle

I think its important to make sure you have taken some precautions with your design, such as proper usage of elements and optimized. The question is more about your site (link?) and if you want to pay for it, which could range from a couple hundred to a couple thousand to properly market it.

As with everything in business, there are always expenses relating to web development and marketing which are necessary to keep your business growing.
I often advise clients to expect to spend between 5 and 10% of total online revenue to support their web site. This would include marketing (SEO) and ongoing development (new features, etc). How much you allocate is dependent on how much of a "web business" you are vs a "traditional" business. Obviously, if your primary source of income is from your web site, you will tend to be closer to the 10% (or more) where as a more traditional business will tend towards the 5% (or less).
This typically has good results in generating new revenue. For example, let's say you're making $2k / month online. That would put your monthly expenses around $100 and $200 / month. IF you want to grow to $5k / month, expect to bump up your budget to $250 - $500 / month (plus a little extra in the transition phase).
Hope this helps.
