Hey everyone, I'm looking for a rough quote for this website, as well as a critique of the writeup (i.e. is it understandable? is more detail needed?). Any help you can provide would be awesome, and if anyone is interested in the project, feel free to say so.
What I need or require:
I need a website developer for a collaborative design contest.
There will be an interface where users can upload their design in vector format, along with a jpeg thumbnail for display on the main page. A detailed page of each design will allow other members to comment, as well as download the file and reupload, all in a single threaded view. In addition to commenting, members will be able to rate each design from 0-5. At the end of each week, the design with the highest rating will be available for purchase, and will be featured on the front page.
What I already have versus what the provider will deliver:
Site design is completed and will be provided in PSDs, along with wireframe mockups displaying different aspects and features of the site.
The provider will deliver a completed site according to the specifications provided, as well as a graphical back-end for managing users, design uploads, comments, featured designs, etc.
Other context/requirements that providers will need to know:
The site will require use of Javascript/AJAX/JQuery effects and architecture to provide both a “Web 2.0” feel as well as lower the amount of strain on the server due to the larger nature of the vector uploads/downloads.
Specific expertise/background that I am seeking:
I need someone who is experienced in creating custom PHP based sites, while still maintaining a close eye for design. The site will revolve around a file uploading social community, so community and user-interface development will be important.
The site will also require a full administrative control panel for managing featured designs, as well as moderating uploads and comments. A thumbnail of each uploaded design will be shown on a dedicated voting page, along with the four latest uploaded designs shown on the main page under the featured design. An ecommerce section is required for the sale and purchase of designs. Each member will also have their own profile that shows their uploaded designs and other social settings.
Timeframe for delivery:
I need the project finished before the end of July, but the sooner the better of course.
Thanks everyone!
