calculating the diameter of image

Someone knows please some graphic software that calculates the diameter or length size of images mane in .jpg?

For example: Do you do a pic of an rectangular or round object and the software calculates the length of the sides or diameter of that "object".

you can do it manualy or code it in any language you want:


diameter = sqrt(height*height + width*width);
