View Full Version : URL Path in XML

I'm still very new to XML in general, so perhaps I have this correct already, or maybe its very simple and I'm not getting it quite right.

I've been using MediaPortal lately to begin setting up an HTPC setup with the home. With MediaPortal you can share your database with multiple Front End Machines. And you simply share the database by changing the path in your xml file to point to your server location.

So, all that said, I'm experimenting with trying to move/host the MediaPortal database file on a webhost.

Currently, I can share the database within the home with something like below, which works just fine:

<!-- The Path for the databases -->
<Dir id = "Database">

Now, I'm trying to move the database onto my hosted web service like below

<!-- The Path for the databases -->
<Dir id = "Database">

I've also given the website directories full read/write access of 777 for now, yet I can't seem to connect to the remote file.

So do I have a problem with the xml file and an incorrect file path, or something else perhaps?
