hi, I do alot of graphic design work and finally took on the challenge to do myspace layouts for bands. I know the basics with coding html css.

I've been working on a layout and it looks good on firefox, but when I view it on internet explorer, everything is there just not position correctly.

is there a way to fix this somehow?
its really becoming a pain.

heres the link to the profile for an example.

thank you so much

you should realy first check this:

http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.myspace.com%2Futioltestprofile&charset=(detect+automatically)&doctype=Inline&group=0

then go further ....

myspace is a coding nightmare. You'll never get IE to attempt to perform like other more modern browsers without one. See the article about doctypes at the top of this forum.

Sorry. Running out the door.

you can always use css hacks to tame ie's eccentricities.. (these are css codes that ie reads and implements while firefox and other browsers ignore)

IE especially IE 6 treats the box model in CSS differently than other recent browsers.
As a result a design can look very different in it!

Try and look this up and understand the differences well!

For example, the default margins and padding for h1 and p tags can cause all kinds of discrepancies! A good idea is to zero them! If that does not make sense please do look it up!

Invest some time in it - it would be worth its while!

Good Luck!
