sliding menu

I am looking for a way of hiding a submenu and the rolling over an image which is the menu item. It will trigger the submenu to slide down. It needs to be hidden to start and visible when the user rolls over the image.
I have tried numerous scripts.
All seem to have one bug or another.
Anyone know of something that really works.
