View Full Version : SIMPLE news system

Hi there,

I've unsuccessfully looked for a SIMPLE news script - but so far without luck. Everything is an overkill with many advanced features.

I'm looking for a thing with which I can publish news at my page. It should be able to save like two er three news articles and then replace them with newer ones - it should have a date stamp and that's it.

No comment options, RSS feeds, feature-rich admin panel and blah blah blah.

Do any of you know a tutorial on how to do this or know where I can find such a thing??

I did a quick search at hotscripts.com and found this little gem-- I'm thinking about using it myself!

Ah, it has to be written in PHP - I have absolutely NO knowledge of ASP. Any suggestions?

Well, if it’s supposed to be simple I’d recommend my favorite CMS: CMS Made Simple (http://php.opensourcecms.com/scripts/details.php?scriptid=9). There is a news module (already preinstalled) that has as many or few features as you like (completely customizable). I’ve used it on this recently created website: http://spielvereinigungsued.de/

Not sure if you want a complete CMS, although it’s as lightweight as it can be. :)

Too advanced, Stephan - I just want a simple news only system:(

I've used cutenews once before. Maybe its what you are looking for? I remember it being simple to use but hard to customize to fit my template. Maybe things have changed as that was a few years ago.

Finally I found a simple solution I've modified to fit my needs:
