saving an image to a directory using actionscript

Can anyone please tell me that can I save an image to a directory using actionscript only without using php or jsp? If I can please tell which functions can be applicable

I've never heard of it without PHP or something, because I believe Flash only sends raw data which needs to be processed by an application before it can be saved.

Thanks for your reply. So when you are saying that without a server side program I can't save an image into local disk. Then please provide me some reference to save an image into local disk with actionscript via jsp.
