View Full Version : Where to post?

I've got a browser improvement suggestion for CSS Media Type:PRINT, and am hoping that
there is enough interest that we can actually get it implemented.
(I already suggested this to FF (my personal browser of choice).)

Any suggestions on an appropriate bulletin board from which to rally the troops?

FYI, for those who are curious, here's the idea:
With the boom in popularity of web-based ap's, it seems logical to have a way to print clean pages (no url, page title, date, etc in header & footer).
This would save a BUNCH of overhead by being able to avoid PDF's and to print clean copies straight off of html (and, obviously, the user should be able to (en/dis)able it).
My first thought was to have a special meta tag, but then I thought CSS would be even better.
I figure if enough people get together to persuade one browser to implement it, that browser would get a jump in market share and start a domino effect of implementation.
My target use would be for customer paperwork (quotes, invc's, etc.) which need to look professional.

Yeah its certainly and interesting idea but a lot of sites already have printer friendly versions of pages that are intended to be printed out.

Still though I can defiantly see the benefit so sign me up matey

GREAT! Welcome aboard!

Does anyone have a suggestion on an appropriate site(s) to post this?

BTW, in my limited experience, printer friendly page versions either include the header/footer info or are PDF. If anyone has any experience to the contrary, please share. That would mean there is already this functionality out there someplace.
