Lost spell checking function for windows programs

This happened a week or so back but I just thought it was my computer messing up and I haven't tried to use the feature again until today.

I'm running winxp and can't use the spellchecking in either outlook express or word. It gives me an error along the lines of "can't find msspell.dll for us english language'

I tried repairing my install of office but that did nothing much so does anybody know how to fix this without doing a complete reinstall?

do you have a second pc? if you do find msspell.dll and copy it from one pc to the other.

Thanks for the tip. I don't know where it's located so I'll go search for it on the comp where it's at and hope it can find it.

On the few PC's I checked, the file is usually in

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Proof
