Ok this is driving me nuts. On WinXP when you use IE the favorites menu by default doesn't show all the favorites but instead shows the double down arrows to indicate there are more items. Well I figured out how to make it stop doing that long ago but recently reset my settings and now it's back to doing that and I cant remember where the setting is for that. Grrrr..

To enable or disable the Internet Explorer personalized Favorites menu:
Start Internet Explorer.
On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
Click the Advanced tab.
Click to clear or select the Enable Personalized Favorites Menu check box.
Click OK.
Restart IE
