does not work, i.e. does not go to link. Any cure for this ?

other that button only , and

What's your actual intention? Are you trying to make a link, having styles of a button? If so, try the following

a.button{
background:#D4D0C8 none repeat scroll 0;
border-color:#FFFFFF #000000 #000000 #FFFFFF;
border-style:solid;
border-width:1px;
cursor:default;
float:left;
margin-left:10px;
padding:0 4px;
}

<a href="../" class="button">Link</a>

Yes, and it works in FF. It would be nice if IE would allso suport it.

using css is to much work to recreate it, and button is different in each browser.
