Hello everyone... I'm looking for some talented individual to create a PayPal IPN that updates a few things in a sql database.

I'm paying about $10 for this, via Paypal. Since I'll supply the actual IPN script, just don't have a moneys how to use it.

So here's exactly what I want done:

A quick form that lists what can be bought. EASY AS PIE
When a user pays for their item it brings them back to the site
Then their account is updated

Why do I need this you may ask?
I need it for a game - they can buy game items via PayPal, then their account is creditted.
This is to be used with GRPG but if it works and updates an SQL table, I'll be happy enough and take over from there!

Problems you might face:
It must be for one user, not the whole game! You can do this by making the item_buyer or whatever their game ID, which is unique
Dunno...

If you reckon you can do this no problems, please email me at shadezfx@live.co.uk

This is a lot more work than just 10 dollars. 1-2 hours at least which can range from 60-200 dollars. Also this is the wrong forum for a paid work offer.

I can get paid $10 cleaning the crap out of the toilets at McDonald's.

At some point you're going to have to learn to respect the knowledge and skills of others. I don't drive up to a garage, ask to have my engine tuned, and tell them "by the way, I'm only paying $10"... and expect to walk away without getting laughed at to my face.

It's actually easy enough. I've got the ipn script already. Just need it patched up a little

To me $10 is fair, plus it's all I have in my paypal

If it's that easy, why don't you just do it? Must not really be all that easy. Based on your requirements list I'll bid $300.

Because I'm only coming 15 in 2 weeks, don't really understand how it works, so on and so forth, blar blar blar

If you're not interested in helping out, don't bother posting.

Just to fux0r your statement up about "Based on your requirements list"

The requirements list:
"A quick form that lists what can be bought. EASY AS PIE
When a user pays for their item it brings them back to the site
Then their account is updated"

Form - easy, takes a few seconds, I'm sure if I asked someone here they would do it free
Returns user to my site - easy, you add one line in the form
Then their acconut is updated - easy, just get the right place in IPN to add a sql query

As I've said, I don't know how this works & don't know that terribly much about PHP to do this solo, so I've asked for help and am paying for it. Even if you do consider it $290 too little!

Because I'm only coming 15 in 2 weeks

Well that explains it.

How about a deal. I get 15% of gross revenue brought in using the Paypal connection I get working for you. Assuming your game is popular.

Hopefully it will catch on... I've spent ages decorating it....

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_ENCAPSED_AND_WHITESPACE, expecting T_STRING or T_VARIABLE or T_NUM_STRING in /home/kthugzz/public_html/register.php on line 51

Also your forum is getting viagra spam. Better tighten that up.

So it's a deal?

You cannot ask someone to do it for free just because it is easy for them, or if you view it as very easy.

A dentist cleans teeth nearly every day... yet they don't work pro bono, though the work is very easy for them. And some of the highest paid mechanics are the ones who have done it for years and can spot the problem very easily just by listening to the exhaust. I would rather pay a guy bigger bucks to get my car fixed nice and solid than to pay a guy a lower rate to toil for hours on my car trying to figure out what the heck the problem is.

In many cases, you are not paying for only the services, but also the skill involved.

If Client A wants a PayPal form programmed, you do it for them and collect your reward. So along comes Client B wanting the exact same thing. What are you going to tell them? "Oh, I already have that written, let me just give it to you for nothing buddy!". Heck no!

Furthermore, nobody really cares that you are providing the IPN script. They are a dime a dozen. The real work comes in tailoring it to your specific needs.

And no form I've ever programmed "takes a few seconds". ;)

If anyone is willing to do this, email me at ShadezFX@live.co.uk
If not, close the tab or window, then sunbathe on the road for a while.

Thank you for your co-operation

Ok I did that! They asked me why I was laying in the road and I told them some 15 year-old guy on the internet told me to! They hung up on me! Now what?

They probably went bankrupt, try Allianz Direct and do it again?

Wait... So you developed a game, but you don't know how to work in paypal?

O.O... I'm seriously baffled at how bass-ackwards that is.
