local banner ads

1) Project Details: (be as specific as possible): I would like to place banner ads om my website for local businesses. since there is no need for Joe's drycleaners in my home town to advertize nationaly. people logging on to the site would only see ads for places in there area. I have gone to sites with ads that say "meet girls in Tucson" and I am wondering How do they know I'm in Tucson? Well I realize they somehow read my IP address and know what ad to show me. this is the kind of feature I am looking for. Is there a script available for this or do I need to have it custom made? I already have a banner ad program being put on the site Iam having built. would I be able to integrate this feature into my existing script, or would I have to start over? I know thats a lot of questions. Can anyone help?
