Effects during states?

Hi all,

Here's a quick question for you all, can an effect be added into a state change? ie, something like the showEffect and hideEffect between sites?

Just something i've been thinking about, Google doesn't seem to have much on it, thought i'd see if anyone has managed to do this.

Would like to hear how :)
