well, it's not really a reference, but www.brainjar.com has got a couple of good ones on the DOM - under the DHTML menu.

You can find the standardised W3C DOM documentation here:
http://www.w3.org/TR/2002/CR-DOM-Level-2-HTML-20020605/
(level 2, candidate recommendation), and here:
http://www.w3.org/TR/REC-DOM-Level-1/ (previous, ful recommendation, 1998). Both come in various downloadable formats.
Try a search on "document object model" or "dom" or both to find out more about browser-specific DOMs.

(It's very good,because theres example code for each method/property).

Hint: eithr read it online, or goto the bookstore and pay $50 for a book that explains it....
