Go And Play on Finish?

Hey guys, I am new to flash.
I am working on simple flash that would just play images. It's fade-in effect one after another. I've made couple keyframes, and I've converted images in every keyframes to movie clip and made a fade-it there. Flash basically jumps from frame to frame without actually playing movie clip in them.
How do you tell it to play movie clip in frame and go on to the next frame and play it and so on?

AS 2.0 or 3.0 it doesn't matter since I don't know nether well :)

Inside of each movieClip, you could put a snippet at the very end of the movieClip on the last frame

_root.gotoAndStop(#);

and make sure that you have stop(); on the first frame in the main timeline with a movieClip to play. This would mean each movieClip would be called and then on finish move to the next frame. Just substitute the number for the next frame number. Its not very scalable though, but it would work.

Thanks, I thought about this concept but I didn't knew exactly what function to use in movie clip. I don't care if it's stable because it's just a simple animation for me.
