I used to have 64 MB RAM
Bought a second chip with 128 MB, put it into the 2nd slot, and now I have... 128 MB :( .
If I take the old chip out its slot, it remains at 128 MB. So it seems that my PC does not recognize the old chip when the new one is active.

Anybody has an idea ???

Tks a lot

Check the motherboard manual, if you bought a commercial system check with the maker of that system for technical specifications. If may be the system only accepts matching memory and somehow your new memory doesn't match the older memory.

Try another slot, like 3 or 4?

I have checked the manual. They say I can take Single- oder Double-Sided DIMM. The board can take one or 2 DIMMs, and they can have different capacities.

Try switching the location of the two DIMM modules.
