a:hover not working in ie works great in ff

There's no reason your code shouldn't be working in IE, given your CSS above. The only thing I could think it would be is stacking order given that you're using absolute positioning. In other words, something could have a higher z-index than the element :hover is applied to and thus block it. IE's perception of stacking order sometimes differs from the standards-compliant browsers'.

For further assistance, please post ALL your code (HTML and CSS) or a link to your page (preferred). And wrap your code in [CODE][/CODE] tags as well.

One possible reason for mysteriously non-functional rollovers in Internet Explorer is the absence of the href attribute in the rollover anchors. IE will not do the rollover without <a href="#"> whereas most other browsers will do the rollover regardless.

auslin you were correct. I was doing a onclick in extjs
