Annoying Moved Threads in the Post a JavaScript Board

When you go to Post a Javascript thread, you see lots of moved threads. So, why should we keep them there when we can delete them? I was there tonight and I could see more moved threads than real active ones! So, what's the need of having them there?

So ppl who posted can see their question wasn't in the right area, without having to wait for a page to load up just to read "moving to blah blah forum", maybe thats the reason, I dunno

It's just being polite I suppose, when we move threads to another forum we can choose to leave a link to the thread. Better that than have people post wanting to know where their thread went, or repost in the wrong category.

Well, two things can happen to change the current situation:

1) Simply delete all threads that are incorrectly posted in the JS Post a script category. This was what I had in mind when first creating the category, though in time the mods and I fell victim to our polite sides (hehe), and decided to move threads in most cases. I can go back to enforcing the rule and simply deleting such threads.

2) When VB3 comes out, hopefully it will include a feature where redirected thread links will expire after a certain amount of time (ie: 1 day), so a thread still gets move, a redirect is still shown, but the later will disappear after x amount of time. I even raised this issue in the VB forums, and they say it might get included.

Or put me down as a mod for that forum. I rule with an iron fist. I'll zap everyone not following the rules (women, children, old people(ie Feyd), lawyers, politicians, bill gates, it don't matter, nobody gets spared from my wrath. I'll even zap myself if I get out of line. :D

That Muhahahaha was really cool! I laughed for 3 minutes! And just 3 minutes!!

As for as being polite, you can send them an email saying their thread was moved somewhere else for a special reason! It's no need to keep it there, especially a thread like JS programs that we only expect to see new scripts, not all bunch of moved threads. You could say you see more moved threads than real threads!

Dear mattover-matter, I don't think that we should write a whole forum for new options that we can put in it, but it's a good practice to write something like it, who really volunteers?! :D
