View Full Version : difference in height

04-13-2009, 09:30 AM
Having gone to: HERE! (http://browsershots.org/) to find out how my new webpage would display in different browsers i noticed straight away that the navigation and contents sections were of an un-equal height. The height difference varied between the browsers. Could someone come to my rescue yet again lol and tell me if there is some code i could use to keep the navigation and contents section of an equal height. Thanks in advance

Hi cadfan,

Not enough information! We'll need to see a link to your page (preferable) or your FULL code (both HTML and CSS), posted in

tags, in order to assist.

Hello cadfan,
Have a look at this 2-column layout that uses a background color to keep the left and righ columns the same length - http://nopeople.com/CSS/equal_length_columns/index.html

You can also do it with a full width slice of an image repeated on the y-axis. That's called the faux columns method (http://www.alistapart.com/articles/fauxcolumns/). Demo here (http://nopeople.com/CSS/faux_columns/index.html).

Does that help?

Hiya both

Have resolved the problem by giving each of the text link boxes an height.
Thanks for taking the time out to reply though. Cheers
