In firefox I wish that when a text area pops up,it will automatically be focused on itself.

any idea how?

it seems focus() does not work in firefox.

thanks

You can find all this so easily with google.
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ei=17rbSZ3JDZfItAPI6rGfCw&sa=X&oi=spell&resnum=0&ct=result&cd=1&q=textarea+focus&spell=1
half way down the page is
http://www.java2s.com/Tutorial/JavaScript/0200__Form/Textareafocus.htm

I added the onload in the body to show you how to set it without the buttons

<html>
<head>
<script language="JavaScript">
<!--
function setFocus(num){
if(num == 1){
document.myForm.myTextArea1.focus();
}else if(num == 2){
document.myForm.myTextArea2.focus();
}
}
-->
</script>
</head>
<body body onload="setFocus(2)">
<P>
<form name="myForm">
<textarea name="myTextArea1" rows=2 cols=50>
Here is the first text area.
</textarea>
<input type=BUTTON value="Click to Set Cursor" name="myButton1" onClick="setFocus(1)">
<br>
<textarea name="myTextArea2" rows=2 cols=50>
Here is the second text area.
</textarea>
<input type=BUTTON value="Click to Set Cursor" name="myButton2"
onClick="setFocus(2)">
</form>
</body>
</html>
