what is the main difference between array & arraycollection in flex?

An ArrayCollection is a wrapper class for an array which allows you to access the array using the methods defined in the ICollectionView and IList interfaces. see: http://livedocs.adobe.com/flex/3/langref/mx/collections/ArrayCollection.html
