ive actually had this problem for awhile, i just never cared enough to ask until now. :D
every time i restart my computer my clock resets, i know its not January 1st every day!
(is reminded of the movie "Groundhogs Day" with Bill Murray)
does anyone have an idea?
mind you this computer is old so it may be the dirt and clay its made of that creates a problem.

The windows time is taken from bios is it not? in which case a faulty or expired cmos battery could be the problem.

Probably need a new battery for the clock. I have a laptop from the dark ages that has the same problem...

Because if it was only resetting the month and day and not the year then it could have been something else wrong. Since the year is also being reset then as was mentioned the battery on your MB is dead.

Yeah the battery is easy to replace... you can prolly just take the old one down to radio shack and find a replacement.
