Hello vlad-i,
Try outline:none;

Thanks for this thread, you reminded me to fix my web site (the same thing).

I just simply added this 2 rules in my main_css stylesheet and its working just fine, not outlines what so ever.

a:link, a:active, a:hover, a:visited {
outline: none;
}

I put this at the top of my CSS files now -

* {
margin: 0;
padding: 0;
outline: none;
border: none;
}

Bear in mind that sighted keyboard users and/or those using certain assistive technology will no longer be able to see which item on the page is selected, making navigating around a site considerably more difficult, if not impossible. (It's an accessibility/usability thang.)

If you're going to remove the outline, use the CSS :focus pseudo-class to replace it with some other, more agreeable means of showing users which element on the page is the selected.
(Also, bear in mind that you ideally shouldn't rely on colour alone to differentiate selected elements from those around it, also on the grounds of good accessibility/usability.)
