Well, there's not much to critique. This is just a 1 page site for a friend in a jazz band. she only wanted 1 page and I made the content.

the site (http://www34.brinkster.com/valerietheresa)

I have a few questions....

-how do I make the contact link turn from blue to red. right now it goes from purple to red.

-will this page look good on different resolutions/monitor sizes?
it looks fine on my computer @ 800x600 in IE 5.0, but I'm on a 19" monitor. I'm concerned it will look terrible on a 15" or 17" monitor.

-anyone notice any problems in the code? I am not a web designer btw.... however, I'm eager to learn! :)

thanks for any insight

To make the link change colours you use CSS. CSS is used to style your HTML.

This example makes your links red, as the mouse passes over they turn blue and a visited link will appear green. You can replace the colours I've used in this example with the hex codes of your own chosen colours. This code would go in between the <head></head> tags and so be applied to each link on a page.

<style type="text/css">
a{color: red}
a:hover{color: blue}
a:visited:{color: green}
</style>

I personally see no problems with your code and the page looks fine at my chosen resolution of 1152x864. :thumbsup:

looks good, not much to critique.
i would say the only thing is the text in that image is a little small, but personally i could read it fine. 800x600

It looks very nice by why not let the text be *text*? :)

Here's what a text browser or search engine see:
