Hello,

I am having a problem with my IIS 5.0 and virtual hosting.

Now what I have is a dns host which connects to my computer, and I need IIS to reconized the A record being used, and directed it to a specific folder on my server. Do you understand?

Now I was told that since the only controll over the DNS is to direct it to my IP address and set A records to be used (or since it's the same IP "CNAMES").

Does anyone know anything about Virtual hosting in IIS 5.0 (Windows 2000 Pro)

Your stupid Morgoth, you should of read up!

I know I did...

Well, it all seems, Windows 2000 Pro doesn't allow more then one Virtual host, or should I say more then one Web Site.

Sure you can have http://ip/folder, but you will need windows 2000 Server to allow you to create more then one website... It's up to you to find out information about that OS. It's got a few differences than Windows 2000 Pro. Such as Norton Utilities doesn't work (any version) and you can only run NAV 2001.

So enough bashing Windows 2000 Server. I suggest you do what you need to do with frames or redirection...

If you are still having a problem, I am looking up some other methods and I will post them here later.
