mouse clickers and how to do them

now, i think i know where to go with the event of turning the little hand into something else ... even an image, but i was wondering if you can turn the default hourglass icon into an image; something that will go inbetween the page loads. if so, could someone help me out on making them? could i use my own image for it?

You can't do that on a webpage, since that is an icon that the client's operating system uses... unless they agreed to have it modified using an ActiveX control that updates their registry, like CometCursor does with cursors, perhaps.

Of course this would only work in IE, and I haven't messed with too many ActiveX controls, so I wouldn't know where to point you for help... I'd probably google it.
