Hello

Like most posters here - I'm new here and struggling - a bit. A little guidance would be nice.

I have an xml file called - look.

The - look - xml file comes with a look swf - and - a look fla file.

The - look - xml file is linked (somehow) to a menu, so, when you click on the menu button the look file opens.

I have cloned the look-xml file, the swf-file and fla-file. I now want to rename and recode them to - see-xml, see-swf and see-fla. Once they are renamed and recoded, I would like see-xml to be a button on the menu.

The files are made with flash cs3, actionscript 2. I have some flash, xml, experience but less AS experience...but I'm a fast learner if someone can point me in the right direction.

Thank you for your time and help. Babygirl;)

Wait, do you want Look to be like page 1, See to be page 2, and perhaps Hear to be page 3? I'm not quite clear on what your overall goal is, but welcome!

Thank you jeremy

Yes. Look would be page 1. See would be page 2. Etc. The difference being, though Look and See "appear" (same layout) the same, they have different names with different menu links. If I just clone Look, and add it to the menu as See, then See opens Look... I would like See to open as See. Am I communicating this any clearer ??? Sorry. Sometimes communication gets in the way of ideas... Babygirl

Yes, the key was if you wanted the files to be like pages, or if they were completely separate.

If you copy the files and change anything that might conflict (variable names might be good too), but really the kicker is that you should probably have a main containter and then load the two See and Look files into it. Then you will have a menu that stays consistent, and then it loads the swf files into a container (like having an iframe on a page and ajax to reload the contents of the box).
