Cut & Paste Ajax Tooltip script v1.2 problem in IE

Hi, I found this tooltip (http://www.javascriptkit.com/script/script2/ajaxtooltip.shtml) and it's great for my needs (I have to take some content from sql database and then put in a tooltip)
Anyway, it works great in Firefox, Opera, Chrome but in Internet Explorer nothing happens when I position mouse over a link..

If anyone knows how to solve this problem in IE it would be great..

I just figured out that it will work in IE too, but I can only use it on normal <a> links, and not on the <area> links that I'm using on the page..

I have to use image map, is there any way of tricking IE to believe <area> is an <a> element, or anything because I really like this script..
