Slimbox Image Sets within Slideshow 2, MooTools

I am desperately seeking some help on this; as I've gone to great lengths to get Slideshow 2 (http://code.google.com/p/slideshow/) set up, followed by the integration of Slimbox (http://www.digitalia.be/software/slimbox). My problem now is that I *really* need support for image groups; which under normal circumstances would be as easy as adding an original group name to each rel="lightbox"; however because the images are generated on the fly, I need to somehow specify this through the script. The answer lies on this page (http://code.google.com/p/slimbox/wiki/MooToolsAPI), but so far the MooTools stuff is just over my head. I know this is a unique scenario, but if anyone has had experience with something similar, I would love to hear about it!
