1) Project Details: (be as specific as possible): I want to protect a folder on my site with the htaccess/htpasswd method. Looking for someone experienced enough that can have it done within a budget of $100. If this is a gross underestimation please let me know and i will happily consider a higher amount.

2) Payment Amount: Up to $100

3) Payment method/ details (Paypal, check? Timeline?): Paypal

4) Additional Info (about project or potential bidders): I need specific and clear instructions on how to add/delete users as they come and go.

I can set up htaccess/htpasswd through my hosting providers cPanel, but it doesnt seem to be as secure as I would like it to be. For example I can bookmark the protected site and still get to it without being challenged to login even after I reboot my PC.

Files also have to be portable enough so that I can implement this on my other domains.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Humidity,

I'm pretty sure I can do this for you, but I'm a little confused at what you're actually asking for?

You say you're looking to protect a folder using .htaccess (not very secure unless you have an SSL) then you say you can do it in cPanel but it doesn't seem to be very secure?

The reason you can still login to the protected area after you reboot is because your cookies are enabled.

Here is a small tutorial that might save you a few bucks. http://corz.org/serv/tricks/htaccess.php

If you're looking for security and willing to shell out a Benjamin, I would highly recommend PHP.

Let me know if I can be of any more assistance.

Also check out my site: www.newpass.net (http://www.newpass.net) for a quick .htpasswd encryption.
