Best .png settings for software developmentbecoatwr 03-02-2009, 09:39 PM Hello, I am having an issue with my png files showing dark outlines around my 16x16 icons. Also, do not double-post. Bill Posters 03-03-2009, 06:49 AM Use PNG-32: 24 doesn't support alpha transparency. Also, do not double-post. It's reasonable to assume from the OP's comment that s/he was indeed using PNG32 already. People most often say PNG24 when they're actually talking about PNG32. This is largely, if not entirely, due to Adobe PS not actually listing PNG24 + 8-bit alpha transparency as PNG32. So, whilst it's, of course, technically correct that you make the distinction, it's a little pedantic in real terms. The synonymous use of PNG24 for PNG32 is likely to continue until Adobe see the error of their ways. In the meantime, it's a bit of a non-issue. ;) Apostropartheid 03-03-2009, 05:05 PM I deleted his other post where he said about it being -24. I didn't know Adobe treated it like that: I've always used Illustrator to optimize my PNGs, where it is listed as PNG-32. Is he sure transparency is checked? What about a source PSD? |
