I have decided it might be best to connect my computer to my television so I can watch videos and such, but I doubt I have the right equipment to do it.

This is the exact video card I have: http://support.intel.com/support/graphics/intel845g/sb/cs-009072.htm. By just looking the specs for the card, does it seem likely that I could connect my PC to my TV?

By physically looking at the back of my computer, I do not see a "TV-out" source for the video card, but I am not entirely sure what I am looking at because I am quite the novice when it comes to hardware. If there is no "TV-out," then I assume this is not possible, which brings me to my second question: is it worth it to buy a new video card to play my videos on my TV?

From the research I have done, the quality on my TV will be much worse than it is on my PC, so I am not sure I want to shell out any real money on a new card when the one I have now works just fine, but I am open to any suggestions.

Many thanks!

You didn't say what kind of TV you had. If you have a HDTV, you can either use a DVI to HDMI cable or most have a VGA connector on them and you can connect your PC using that. Otherwise your computer's video card would need either s-video out and composite out in addition to a DVI or VGA port.

If you don't have a HDTV, yes the resolution on the TV will be less than what you can achieve on your computer monitor. Though it is still perfectly watchable in most cases.
