css layout help

well, im tryin to make a theme for drupal and i have no idea how to make css layouts,
ive looked at some of the layouts out there in the internet and they all dont fit what im searchin,
first i wanna ask if a css layout can be like this:

1. Yes! A CSS layout can most definitely be like that.
2. Yes, we can do a layout like that, but we would be a lot more willing to help you out if you took a stab at coding it first. Most of us are here to educate, and not just to provide free coding services. So go for it!
