HI! Pls. help me with my problem. I have a big problem that I have in my PC, I don't know why my PC was doing this to me. I run norton system check and yet it didnt detect any errors. Why is it that everytime that I run my PC and connects to the internet after thirty minutes my connection becomes slower and then after that thirty minutes my PC automatically restarts literally restarts the whole system!!! What is wrong with my PC? I tried repairing the internet explorer but i think it only affects me when i am online...

1) do a virus scan with norton antivirus
2)do a virus scan with a free online virus scanner such as Trend Micro (http://housecall.trendmicro.com/housecall/start_corp.asp)
it is important that you do both 1 and 2 as it will conclude if you have a virus.
when did you last update your norton antiviurs definitions?
if no virus is found i suggest hte casue might have been similair to mine. Do you have a norton antivirus icon in your system tray or does it scan when windows loads?

the link http://housecall.trendmicro.com/housecall/start_corp.asp
it could be a sign of virus activity as your net slows up after 30mins and your pc restarts. If it is not a virus it will help determine what the problem is as it eliminates the possibility of viruses.

What os? how do you connect to the internet?
Is your computer overclocked? How heavily loaded is your power supply?

It could be a problem with your motherboard or if you are using a modem, the modem could be to blame.
Motherboards are the component most likely to fail or be DOA so...

I am under WINME and only if i go online thats the time it restarts itself sometimes even the connection goes slower every time the time passes. But if i am offline i can work on my pc 3 hours or so, which means offline i am ok. so what co uld be the problem? No, my PC is not overclocked.

Hi,
CPU overheating is a typical cause of this symptom. You might try opening up your case and give it a test run.
Let me know if there is any change,
Steven:thumbsup:
