I have a small ajax busy image (see attachment) displaying but in IE6 the image sits high - is there a way to better center it vertically using CSS?

I did this but no help:

<TD valign="top">
<IMG SRC="ajax_progress.gif" WIDTH="16" HEIGHT="16" BORDER="0" ALT="" style="height: -8;">
</TD>

How are you centering int now?
Have a look at this demo, there are a couple different approaches there - http://nopeople.com/CSS/vertical%20center%20with%20CSS/

View the source to see how it's done.
