Hey everyone, I'm a noob by every definition with regards to CSS and HTML and I'm currently at a loss with an assignment. I've had technology and user error ruin my day. Notepad++ tabbed 2 of what I thought were duplicate .html files and I realized too late that I deleted my good copy that I have to submit by 8am tomorrow morning. Long story short, what once worked good enough to get a good grade is now causing me to pull hairs and my CSS is seemingly useless. Since I don't really know the forum etiquette here I hope you'll bear with me. What seems to be happening is that no matter what I change as far as classes or id's in CSS, I can't get color or alignment to function properly in my tables. I had a very simple gray/silver layout with rollover buttons on my hyperlinks and now I have bad alignment everywhere, huge white table sections where there should be color and nonfunctional rollovers. I know this is elementary but I've never used CSS before and I've already put many hours into this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

p{font-family: trajan pro, 'sans serif'; color:maroon;}

h1.header {font-family: trajan pro, 'sans serif'; color:maroon; text-decoration:underline; font-weight:bold;}

p.info {text-decoration: underline; font-style: italic; font-weight: lighter;}

table#head {background-color: silver; width: 75%; text-align:center;}

td#headpic {text-align: center;}

td.headtd {text-align: center;}

table#navbar {width: 75%; text-align:center;}

td#image {background-color: silver; text-align: center;}

td.link {text-align: center; background-color: #acacac}

td#footer {background-color: silver;}

body#background {background-color: maroon;}

table.content {background-color: gray; position: center; width: 75%;}

td#generic {background-color: gray; text-align: center;}

td#footer {width: 100%; position: center; text-align: center;}

a:link, a:visited {background: gray ; border: 3px outset; color: black;}
a:focus, a:hover {background: silver ; color: maroon;}
a:active {background:olive; border: gray ;}

please put your code between [ code] and [ /code] tags, you can edit your post to do that. Thank you.
also if you can post a link to the page with the problem, it's easy to see what's wrong.

best regards
.
