Here's my situation. (It’s long, please bare with me) I have a frames page (http://aberfoylers.nimdo.com) and when you click on "private" it sends you to a java-applet password gate. When the password is entered, the whole page and all the frames change (_top). When this happens, it displays the location of the new index page that the gate has linked to, practically defeating the purpose! I have figured out some ways to get around this, but will they work? How can I get them to work? Which is the best way to cover up than location bar! (I know people can still find the location if they really wanted to, but my site deals with non-computer literate people, mostly, so I just want to prevent bookmarking) Here are some ideas.
Another frames page that will first load, then put the main index page in the top frame, while the bottom is just a 1-pixel frame? Will the pages run independently, or will the same problem occur.
At my check Netscape or explorer page, if it were one, it would open a 100% pop-up without the location bar and close the first window, and for the other the same thing but a different page. Could this be done?
Or maybe there is a script that simply takes out the location bar or fills it in with a dud URL?
Please! Anyone?
Thanks for your time.
