View Full Version : CSS Float Tag

Image tags with style="float: right;" or style="float: left;" not displaying in IE 6.

Do I just not get it?

I have of course multiple images for the makeup of my website, but only 3 on the page are actually images displayed as images and two of them are floating in the welcome message. One to the left, the other to the right. The page displays perfectly in all browsers (that I have checked so far), EXCEPT IE 6. What gives?

This is the code that has worked successfully in all other browsers and other versions of IE.

<img src="img/tim1a.jpg" width="200" height="278" style="float: right; padding-left: 20px; padding-right: 0px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-top: 10px;" />

If anyone could tell me if there is a way to get it to show up in IE 6 that would be great. I have tried the following, but maybe not in the right combination.

clear: ; (left, right, both)
display: ; (block, inline, none)
visibility: visible;

I am still researching, but if someone beats me to figuring it out, that would be awesome. I haven't found the exact question anywhere online, so I'm guessing that it is unique to my page coding and wonder if I don't have something else messing it up. I have checked and re-checked, but no other tags or styles in the CSS sheet or .html page itself have a float style....I will probably just have to go through line by line until I find it, huh? :rolleyes:

Add position:relative; to the css for the images.
